What is the school’s hours of operations?

Our operational hours are as follows:

  • School gates open at 7.00am
  •  Assembly is at 7:45am
  • School closes at 12:00pm for Nursery classes, Basic classes 1:00pm, College 1:50pm. Islamiyya opens at 3:00pm and closes at 5:30pm(Monday-Thursday).

The reception and administrative offices are opened daily from 7:00am – 3:00pm during term times. Please note that offices are usually opened from 9:00am – 2:00pm for one week after the school vacates and one week before resumption unless on special occasions. During this time, members of staff including teachers are available for enquiries and queries.

What kind of curriculum do you follow?

The curriculum at Diligent Kids Academy is rich and integrated.

We run Nigeria/ British curriculum from Basic one (1) to six (6), while we adopt the British system of education from Pre-nursery to Nursery two (2) and Basic one (1) to six (6).

The curriculum of the Junior Secondary School (JSS) is both prevocational and academic. It includes all of the basic subjects which enable students to acquire knowledge and skills on which they can build. In line with the Federal Ministry of Education’s directive.

What happens if students arrive late?

Children who arrive after 8.00am are expected to enter the school via the front office to receive a late note.

Can my child leave the school grounds during normal hours?

Children are not permitted to leave the school site without permission from the school or parent. A leave Pass for outside appointments must be completed by a parent or nominated adult. These forms are available from the front office.

What happens if students are absent?

It is recommended that you contact the school via text SMS to advise office staff of your child’s absence. By texting 08065511424 or 0803 790 3053, parents can avoid receiving a text message at 11 a.m. on the day of their child’s absence.

What happens if parents enter the school during school hours?

All parents and community members entering the school during normal hours of operation are required to sign the visitors’ book in the front office before collecting a visitors’ badge. 

How does the school deal with chronic or serious health problems?

Children with asthma, diabetes, severe allergic reactions, heart problems or any diagnosed health concern are identified on enrollment. An action plan is developed (and updated annually) to ensure that proper emergency procedures are in place. Information is then passed on to staff.

What happens if my child is sick at school?

Parents are encouraged to keep sick children at home. Minor injuries are treated at school but parents will be contacted when the injury or illness requires further attention.
